1927 French Eclectic

We live in the same neighborhood as this stunning French Eclectic home and it has always been one of our favorites. The house was in terrible shape when it hit the market but we knew it had to be ours. Some of the issues the home had were pet stained and rotten floors, extremely dangerous wiring, an outdated kitchen with a drop ceiling, only one bath and a difficult floor plan. The house did have extremely amazing architectural details such as a Moorish style niche in the living room, marble fireplace and a double arched opening to the dining room. We knew we needed to bring this home into the 21st century while retaining and restoring the elements that we fell in love with. Adams and Adams did a complete design overhaul to a very challenging all concrete structure (even the interior walls!). We were able to add an en suite bath and a walk in closet in an otherwise unusable pass through room without removing any walls. A complete renovation of the kitchen with meticulous detail to period style cabinetry and gourmet appliances make the space charming yet modern. Restoration of the rare random width oak flooring stained a deep brown juxtaposed with the light filled rooms helps to show off the grandeur of this significant Asheville home.
